and walk down the side hill to get in here. it's really, really, it's very bad in here. >> what a mess. rob marciano has been tracking the storms that have been soaking northern california. is there more rain on the way? >> there is. not today, today we get a break, but in some areas rivers and small streams are on the rise and another pulse of energy pointing its way right at northern california. it will be the fourth pulse of heavy wind, rain and snow coming into this area over a five-day period. look at some of the damage out of oakland. a number of homes damaged because of flooding and rains there. roads damaged as well this is widespread, across the bay area, southern parts of oregon, just the infrastructure can't handle this moisture and underwashing some of these roadways. rescues, high water rescues yesterday and over the weekend. you can just imagine when some of these small streams come up and over the roadways, if you're driving through them people get stuck. the crews are brought in to try to get the job done and folks to safety. across napa valley, incredible flooding there. th

a gun from the backyard of a nearby home. as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now, the suspects were then trailed by police to another nearby residence where a brief standoff >> one of at least two armed robbery suspects could be seen being taken into custody by police early friday near the intersection of mt. pleasant and clayton roads in east san jose. they are thought to be the same men who were spotted earlier by a resident of nearby monrovia avenue. for about two hours, robert saunders elementary school here on rocky mountain way was locked down as precaution. a few blocks away, in what police call a 'surround and call-out' operation' at least 21 officers and a couple canine units surrounded a home on clayton road where the suspects and several other people were thought to be holed up inside and quite possibly armed with a gun thought to have been used in a robbery on thursday. >> it may have been a fire arm that was from yesterday's event. but they went to the backyard to retrieve it. it did not belong to a residence but this is speculation. they are probably going to go back

for the burglary suspect put a preschool in cupertino on lock down. ktvu's rob roth has been updating us all afternoon. >> reporter: within the past half hour police called off the search for the third of three suspected burglars. the three men left their car in this parking lot. they ran through this opening and into the neighborhood. police quickly arrested two of the men. >> reporter: this is the car that the three men left in this shopping center. officers were trying to get the car to pull over for speeding. >> vehicle pulled over and sped off again. pulled into this parking lot. >> reporter: police say the men didn't wait for the car to stop before running away. >> the car was still rolling. they jumped out of the vehicle as it rolled to the stop. >> the men took off running into a neighborhood. police caught one suspect immediately. one neighbor saw to of the men -- saw two of the men. >> i was scared when i zootheism in the backyard -- when i saw them in the backyard. >> police arrested one and the other got away. authorities seeled off streets and conducted backyard searches. polic

have just released surveillance video that shows a man being robbed at gunpoint. the robbery happened on july 5th this year on laguna near cleary. two men drove away in that newer model dodge charger. police say these are photos of the two men that committed the crime. police are asking anyone with any information no matter how small you might think it is to call them. >>> in eight minutes a break in the case of two people found bound and gagged in san francisco. one of whom has since died. what authorities told us today about the charges that five people are now facing. >>> a maintenance worker was killed today in a crash in santa clara county. it happened around noon. on mount hamilton road just south of the james lick observatory. highway police tell us the man who works in the observatory was working. >> it's hard enough driving when it's dry. but when it's snow the switch backs and the winding roads becoming very dangerous. >>> authorities have not released the victim's name but say he was in his 50s. >>> we are learning some horrible news details tails tonight about the plane cr

was robbed. this happened in a pretty busy shopping time. brian flores is live to tell us where the woman was when she was targeted. >> reporter: good morning. we're live at the sun valley mall. at this hour, concord police are looking for an armed robbery suspect that tried to take items from a woman here in front of the macy's parking lot at the mall. still very limited details. from what we understand, the robbery happened at around 7:30 last night. it's being reported that the woman was just arriving here at the mall when the robber pointed something. it's still not clear whether it was a gun or not, but he pointed it on the back of her head and demanded that she give him all of her money. she didn't have cash. she gave him her driver's license and credit cards. the robber pushed her to the ground and ran off into what is described as an older model light-colored small car. the woman ran into the macy's and called police. still very limited details as we mentioned on the suspect air -- suspect's car and his description. we have calls in to them. shoppers are warned to be very vigilant
